Hydrogen quality analysis

Hydrogen quality refers to the purity and composition of hydrogen gas, particularly in relation to the presence and concentrations of other gases and impurities. The quality of hydrogen is crucial because it affects the efficiency, performance, and safety of various applications that utilize hydrogen.

Purity Levels: This is the measure of the actual hydrogen content within a sample. High purity levels mean that a greater percentage of the sample is hydrogen, with fewer impurities. The purity level required can vary significantly depending on the application; for example, fuel cells used in vehicles typically require hydrogen with very high purity.

Types of Impurities: Common impurities in hydrogen include water vapor, oxygen, nitrogen, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, and sulfur compounds. The presence and concentration of these impurities are critical as they can affect the performance of hydrogen in different applications. For instance, sulfur compounds and carbon monoxide can poison the catalysts in fuel cells, severely affecting their efficiency and lifespan.

RA701 hydrogen analyzer is mainly used for measuring the purity, humidity, oxygen content of hydrogen.
